Brightness Settings
Raven field computers can adjust the brightness of the display screen to the operator's preference. All Raven field computers also feature a Day/Night setting to allow the field computer to automatically adjust the brightness of the screen depending on the time of day.
Adjust Brightness Settings
The Display Settings window provides options to adjust Screen Brightness and Lightbar Brightness. For more lightbar settings, see Configure a Lightbar.
To access display settings:
- Select Settings on the bottom left of the Home screen. The Settings Menu will open.
- Select Display on the Settings menu. The Display Settings window will open.
- The default settings for the display are Day Mode with the Screen Brightness and Lightbar Brightness at 100%. If desired, select Night Mode which switches the screen background and foreground colors and sets the Screen Brightness to 30% and Lightbar Brightness to 30%.
Note: Lightbar brightness will be hidden on CR12™ unless an external lightbar is detected.
- If desired, select the Automatically Switch Day/Night Mode checkbox.
- Drag the Sunset Adjustment slider bar to manually adjust when the CRX will switch from Day Mode to Night Mode. The default setting is directly at sunset.
- Drag the respective slider bars to manually adjust the Screen Brightness or Lightbar Brightness.
- Select Accept to save the displayed settings and return to the Settings menu.
Adjust Brightness Settings
The System Preferences tab provides access to settings to customize the ROS device display and operation.
To adjust system preferences:
- Select the Administrator Panel icon in the top left corner of the display.

Select the User Profile utility.

Select the System Preferences tab on the General User Settings prompt.

If desired, select one of the options in the Display Mode drop-down:

Day - This option sets the brightness level during daytime operation. The default setting is 100%.

Night - This option sets the brightness level during nighttime operation. The default setting is 1%.

Auto - This option will automatically switch the display mode according to the time of day.

Drag the respective slider bars to manually adjust the Screen Brightness or LED Brightness.
Note: This setting will also adjust the brightness of a compatible light bar connected to the ROS device. Refer to Configure Light Bar Display Settings for more information on light bars.
