Added Equipment or Implement Configuration

All Raven field computers allow for equipment and implements to be configured and added to existing machine configurations or profiles. These implements can include plows, disks, pull-type applicators, planters, carts, or other types of equipment.

For machines to pair with the equipment or implement, refer to New Machine Configuration.

Note: Entering all measurements as accurately as possible will ensure the best coverage and guidance results during in-field operations. Verify all measurements before entering them into the field computer and check values entered for each setting or option.

Note: To add drawn equipment, a machine must have already been configured. Refer to New Machine Configuration for more information on configuring a machine.

Add Existing Equipment

Create New Equipment

Note: Drawn equipment includes two wheel and four wheel carts. Unless the equipment is steered from the front wheels, create a two wheel cart.

Drawn Equipment

Select Settings on the bottom left of the Home screen. The Settings Menu will open.
Select the Machine button on the Settings menu. The Machine Configuration window will open.
Select Add Drawn Equipment. The Configure Carts window will open.
Select Create New Cart. The Create New Cart page will open.
Enter the desired name in the <Enter Name> field.
Select the Drawn Equipment checkbox.
Select Next. The Axle to Tongue Distance page will open.
Enter the distance from the center of axle to the front of the tongue.
Select Next. The Distance: Axle to Hitch page will open.
Enter the distance from the center of the rear axle to the back hitch.
Select Next. The New Equipment page will open.
Enter Total Width and the Number of Sections.
Select Next. Review the Section Layout information.
Select Next. The Equipment Offset From Axle page will open.
Enter the distance from the center of the equipment to the axle.
Select the Ahead or Behind checkbox for whether the equipment is ahead of or behind the center of the axle.
Select Next. The Equipment Offset From Center page will open.
Enter the distance between the equipment and the centerline of the machine.
Select the Left or Right checkboxes for whether the equipment is mounted to the left or right of the centerline.
Select Accept to return to the Configure Carts window.
Select Mount Equipment. The drawn equipment is now mounted to the implement.
To edit a piece of Drawn Equipment, select Edit.
To remove a piece of Drawn Equipment, select the Remove button on the Machine Configuration screen.
Note: Resetting an implement or piece of equipment will not delete previously created profiles but will place it back in the inventory.
Select Accept to save the displayed settings and return to the Settings menu.

Create New Mounted Implement

Note: Entering all measurements as accurately as possible will ensure the best coverage and guidance results during in-field operations. Verify all measurements before entering them into CRX and check values entered for each setting or option.

The following options are available for creating new mounted implements:

SCS or ISOBUS-Connected Item

To create a new implement that is mounted to the frame structure or the machine:

Select Settings on the bottom left of the Home screen. The Settings Menu will open.
Select the Machine button on the Settings menu. The Machine Configuration window will open.
Select Edit on an existing machine. The Configure Machine window will open. Either modify the existing machine or select an implement to mount to an existing machine.
Select the desired machine from the drop-down.
Select the Mount Equipment button under the Front Mounted or Rear Mounted labels to select if the equipment is front or rear mounted. The Select Equipment To Mount On window will open.
Select Create New Equipment.
Enter a name for the equipment in the <enter name> field.
Enter the distance from the axle to the equipment or the distance from the connection point to the connection point.
Note: For ISO supported products, it is possible to adjust individual section offsets in the ISO connected piece of equipment and operate it in CRX.
Select Next. The GPS Solution Source page will open.
If desired, select a GPS source. If a GPS source is selected, there will be additional screens before the next step.
Select if the equipment is Ahead or Behind the axle.
Select Next. The Equipment Offset From Center page will open.
Enter the distance from the center of the implement to the center of the machine in the Distance field.
Select if the equipment is offset to the Left or Right of center.
Select Accept to return to the Configure Machine window.
Select Accept to save the displayed settings and return to the Settings menu. If needed, select Previous and adjust information.

Other

To create a new implement that is mounted to the frame structure or the machine:

Select Settings on the bottom left of the Home screen. The Settings Menu will open.
Select the Machine button on the Settings menu. The Machine Configuration window will open.
Select Edit on an existing machine. The Configure Machine window will open. Either modify the existing machine or select an implement to mount to an existing machine.
Select the desired machine from the drop-down.
Select the Mount Equipment button under the Front Mounted or Rear Mounted labels to select if the equipment is front or rear mounted. The Select Equipment To Mount On window will open.
Select Create New Equipment.
Enter a name for the equipment in the <enter name> field.
Enter the Total Width.
Enter the Number of Sections.
Select Next. The Guidance Width page will open. The Guidance Width is automatically assigned the same value as the Total Width.
If desired, enter a different measurement in the Guidance Width field.
Select Next. The Section Layout page will open.
Review the information on the Section Layout page. If desired, select the width below one of the sections to adjust the width for that section.
Select Next. The Axle to Equipment page will open.
Enter the distance from the axle to the equipment or the distance from the connection point to the connection point.
Note: For ISO supported products, it is possible to adjust individual section offsets in the ISO connected piece of equipment and operate it in CRX.
Select Next. The GPS Solution Source page will open.
If desired, select a GPS source. If a GPS source is selected, there will be additional screens before the next step.
Select if the equipment is Ahead or Behind the axle.
Select Next. The Equipment Offset From Center page will open.
Enter the distance from the center of the implement to the center of the machine in the Distance field.
Select if the equipment is offset to the Left or Right of center.
Select Accept to return to the Configure Machine window.
Select Accept to save the displayed settings and return to the Settings menu. If needed, select Previous and adjust information.

Add a New Implement

Note: A new machine configuration may be created without being connected to the specific equipment to be used with the configuration. However, if the configuration is created while the ROS device is connected to a different CANbus system, the created machine configuration will need to be modified or adjusted when ROS first detects the CANbus system to be associated with the machine configuration.

To create a new Machine Configuration:

Select the Machine Panel icon in the bottom left corner of the Street Maps view to display the available machine configurations.
Select the Add button to create a new machine configuration.
Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the desired machine configuration name and touch the done button. The machine garage will display.
Select an existing machine profile or select the Add button toward the upper, right corner of the display to create a new profile for the machine configuration. The following options are available for configuring new machines:

Create a New Implement Profile

To access the Implement Garage and create a new implement profile:

Select the Machine Panel to display any available machine configurations.
Select the Edit button.
Select the Implement Garage button to view any machine profiles already configured.
Select the Add button to create a new machine profile.
Select either:
- the Two Wheel Cart type to create a new single axle profile from scratch.
- the Four Wheel Cart type to create a new double axle profile from scratch.
- the Pull-Type Toolbar type to create a new pull-type toolbar from scratch.
- the Mounted Toolbar type to create a new mounted toolbar from scratch.
- an existing implement profile to clone the profile settings for the new machine.
Use the on-screen keyboard to enter the name for the new machine profile and select the Done button.
If creating a new profile from scratch, complete the steps in the following drop-down. If using an existing profile, proceed to the next step.
New Implement Profile
1. The Machine Profile selection prompt will display if creating a new machine profile from scratch.
2. Use the drop-down selections to set the implement profile type, sub-type, manufacturer, and model (if available) of the implement to be created.
The General Information tab allows the operator to enter or modify implement information. Select the information fields and use the on-screen keyboard to enter general information about the implement for identification purposes. If a preset implement profile was selected, verify the information displayed and make adjustments if necessary.
Enter the front and rear (if applicable) tongue and hitch length measurements for the implement. Refer to General Information Tab for assistance with measuring these values.
Select Next.
Review the section information. If a preset implement profile was selected, the section information for the equipment available from the manufacturer will be set for section groups as appropriate. Select:
- the Delete button to remove section groups from the implement profile.
- the Edit button to modify sections labels, widths, or offset information.
- the Add button to create a new or customized section group.
Note: Refer to Modify Section Settings for more information on setting up implement section groups.
