Configure a Bin Chain in ROS

To manually configure Bin Chaining:

  1. Open a job that is desired to use bin chains. Do not start the job.

  2. In the Tank Assignment section, select the Bin Chain icon. The Bin Chain Management prompt will display.

Note:  If the Bin Chain icon is green, ROS has automatically chained the products with the same Product Mix name. If the icon is gray, there are no chained products or a manual chain may be configured.

  3. Select the Manual Group box.

  4. Select and hold the Add Bin Chains icon to add nodes. The primary product window will open.

  5. Configure the Primary Product, Bin Chain Name, and Rate Information.

  6. Select the Add Node icon in the selected chain field to add other bins to the product.

  7. Select the advanced method for bin switching. This can either be done when the Bin Level sensor alarm is triggered, when there is an empty tank, or a low tank alarm is triggered.

  8. Repeat the process for each empty chain. A minimum of four products/nodes are required to have multiple chains.

  9. After completing a bin chain, it is possible to reverse the bin chain order by pressing Reverse. This changes the order of the links (instead of 1 - 3 the order would become 3 -1).

Note:  After a bin chain has been configured, the user can create and select chain profiles. See Configure Chain Profiles for more information on chain profiles.
