Create a Guidance Line
Note: Guidance lines cannot be loaded in jobs with an operation plan.
To create a guidance line:
- Select the Guidance Lines icon along the right side of the run screen.
Note: The guidance line icon is the lowest icon on the right side of the Run screen and will be displayed as one of the available guidance line options.
- Select the desired guidance line type.
Note: Refer to Guidance Lines and Patterns Description for an overview of all available guidance lines and patterns.
- When the machine is on the desired starting point and in the proper orientation, select the guidance line starting point. During the recording, the line widget will display a flashing red light.
- When done recording, select the next point (in this case it will be B).
- Select Accept to complete the line.
- Select the Guidance Lines icon along the right side of the run screen.
- Select the Edit button next to the newly created line. The Edit Guidance Line window will open.
- Enter a name for the guidance line.
- Select Accept. If desired, select Delete to delete the guidance line.
- When in a job, select Load to load and use an existing guidance line.
Select a Guidance Pattern
The AB Utilities widget will be required to set and manage AB guidance paths during field operations. Refer to Add Widgets to a Screen Layout to add the AB utilities widget to a screen layout before performing the following procedures.
Note: The AB Utilities widget may also be used to access nudge features and tools. Refer to Nudge Features and Tools for assistance with using AB guidance nudge during field operations.
Note: The Last Pass modes is enabled and set by default when starting a job without selecting a saved guidance path. Refer to Start or Resume a Job in ROS for assistance with configuring job settings or ROS Job Profile Configuration for assistance with setting up a job profile.
To select a guidance pattern:

Select the Guidance Pattern button.

Select the desired pattern.

Create a Guidance Pattern
To create a new guidance path:
Note: This example will use the AB Straight guidance pattern, but all other guidance patterns are created by the same process.

Select the Set A button on the widget.

Begin driving the first swath. While ROS may allow the second point to be set before driving the full swath, best results are generally achieved by driving further along the initial swath before setting the B point.
Note: When creating a Fixed Contour path, ROS will require that the full swath length be driven to plot points along the swath.

Select the Set B button.

If needed, select the Recalibrate button to move the guidance line to the current position.
Create an AB Straight Guidance Pattern Using a Heading
To set a new straight AB line guidance path using a compass heading:

Select the Set A button on the AB Utilities widget.

Select the Pattern Type button.

Select the Straight A-B by Heading button.
Note: There is no minimum distance between A and B points when setting an AB line using a heading.

Select the Set B by Heading button to display the Set B by Heading prompt:

Use the course setting options along the bottom of the prompt to adjust the value displayed as the selected heading.

Select the Set B button in the middle of the compass display to set the guidance path using the selected heading.
