Power the OMNiDRIVE™ System

caution

Do not connect the system power cable to the vehicle ignition or battery until all system components are mounted and all electrical connections are completed.

Battery Disconnect

caution

The OMNiDRIVE™ system will draw power even when the tractor is shut down. Over time, this may drain the tractor battery.

A battery disconnect is required to avoid damage to the tractor battery.

Battery Cable and Device Plate Power

Note:  Toggle the battery disconnect to the off state before connecting the OMNiDRIVE™ system to power.

  1. Connect the battery cable (P/N 115-2610-018) to the power distribution module on the OMNiDRIVE™ device plate.

  2. Use a 14 mm socket to remove the cover on the rear of the tractor cab.
  3. Locate the ignition relay at the top, left of the panel.

  4. Route the battery cable to the ignition relay. Pass the harness through either the rear window grommet or through the hole drilled as part of the Connect the Steering Valve Harness process.
  5. Connect the power and ignition leads to the following locations:

    caution

Corrosion and build up on the power relay module may make connecting OMNiDRIVE™ leads difficult. Use penetrating oil on studs and nuts before attempting to connect leads to the module.

    • ignition wire (smaller eyelet) to the ignition post located above ignition relay.
    • battery wire (larger eyelet) to the battery post below the relay.

Note:   If studs are broken, the factory power relay module will need to be replaced.

  6. Connect the ground wires to either of the following locations:

    caution

Corrosion and build up on the power relay module may make connecting OMNiDRIVE™ leads difficult. Use penetrating oil on studs and nuts before attempting to connect leads to the module. If studs are broken, the factory power relay module will need to be replaced.

    • Location #1 - the bolt securing the large hose clamp toward the bottom of the panel.

      or

    • Location #2 - locate the 10 mm hole in the main frame rail. Remove paint around the hole and use a bolt to secure the ground leads.

Note:   If studs are broken, the factory power relay module will need to be replaced.

  7. Secure the battery cable using the supplied zip ties and replace the rear cover.

Base Cable Power Connection

caution

Do not connect the system power cable to the vehicle ignition or battery until all system components are mounted and all electrical connections are completed.

  1. Locate and access the battery compartment below the left side of the cab. It may be necessary to remove the tool box or battery cover.
  2. Use a 10 mm socket to remove the two nuts holding the black cover over the electrical components and power hook ups.

    caution

Corrosion and build up on the power relay module may make connecting OMNiDRIVE™ leads difficult. Use penetrating oil on studs and nuts before attempting to connect leads to the module. If studs are broken, the factory power relay module will need to be replaced.

  3. Route the base cable power leads out of the cab through the grommet in the floor to the left of the steering column.

  4. Connect the black ground wire to the frame ground point on the side of the engine block as shown in the picture above.
  5. Connect the red power wire to the power stud as shown above.

    caution

Do not connect power leads directly to the battery posts.

Note:  Connecting directly to the tractor battery will not allow the OMNiDRIVE™ system to shut down fully and may drain the batteries.

  6. Proceed to the Mount and Secure the OMNiDRIVE™ Device Plate.
