Field Hub Provisioning with Configurator

Complete the following steps to use Configurator to provision a Slingshot® Field Hub:

Field Hub on a Verizon Network

  1. Open Configurator.
  2. Select the Provision button.
  3. Enter the APNClosed Access Point Name, username (if applicable), and password (if applicable).
  4. Select the OK button.

    Note:  Consult with your cellular carrier for assistance with username and password requirements as necessary.

  5. Configurator will prompt the user that changes will take affect after a reboot. Select OK and cycle power to the Field Hub.
  6. Allow the Field Hub to reboot. Configurator will automatically reconnect to the Field Hub.
  7. Ensure a WAN and a phone number are displayed in Configurator.
  8. Disconnect the Field Hub from the computer and cycle power to the Field Hub. This will cause the Field Hub to run a final automatic update.
  9. After the final update is complete, the Field Hub will reboot.
  10. The Field Hub is ready for use.

Field Hub on an HSPA Network

  1. Open Configurator.
  2. Select the Provision button.
  3. Enter the APN for the cellular carrier, username, and password (if applicable).

    Note:  Some carriers may require a username and password. Consult with your cellular carrier for assistance with username and password requirements as necessary.

  4. Select OK.
  5. If the SIMClosed Subscriber Identification Module card installed in the Field Hub is locked by a PIN code, the SIM card will need to be replaced with an unlocked SIM.

    Note:  PIN locked SIM cards are not compatible with the Slingshot® Field Hub as there is no way to enter a PIN code to unlock the SIM card.

  6. Configurator will set the APN information. Once complete, Configurator will prompt the user that changes will take affect after a reboot. Select OK and cycle power to the Field Hub.
  7. Allow the Field Hub to reboot. Configurator will automatically reconnect to the Field Hub.
  8. Ensure a WAN and a phone number are displayed in Configurator.
  9. Disconnect the Field Hub from the computer and cycle power to the Field Hub. This will cause the Field Hub to run a final automatic update.
  10. After the final update is complete, the Field Hub will reboot.
  11. The Field Hub is ready for use.
