Steering Disengage Settings (Machine Steering Only)

Note:  Some pages and options may differ based upon how the machine or implement is configured.

  1. From the auto-steer Home page, select the Tools button.

  2. Select the Steering Setup tab.

  3. Select the Steering Disengage Settings button.

Note:  Use the Previous and Next buttons at the bottom of the page to display additional Hitch and Disengage/Engage settings and options. Refer to Description of Disengage/Engage Settings and Hitch Status Settings for additional assistance with the options and values on these pages.

Informational Readouts

The Disengage Settings, Disengage Engage Settings, or Implement Engage Setup page displays the following information:

Disengage Type

Disengage Status

Indicates the status of the disengage switch. The following statuses may be displayed:

  • Green - The disengage switch is detected and the steering wheel is not moving. The auto-steer system may be engaged when this status is displayed.
  • Red - The disengage switch is detected and the steering wheel is moving. The auto-steer system may not be engaged when this status is displayed.
  • Yellow - No disengage switch is detected in the system. Turn the steering wheel to activate the disengage switch. If the disengage switch is not activated, check cabling for loose or missing connections.

Note:  DirecSteer does not support testing the disengage sensor from the Disengage Settings page.

Pressure 1

For single and dual pressure disengage types, the pressure monitored by the first pressure transducer is shown.

Pressure 2

For dual pressure disengage types, the pressure monitored by the second pressure transducer is shown.

Disengage Differential

For dual pressure disengage types, this field displays the differentialClosed Differential Global Positioning System is an enhancement to standard GNSS/GPS messages to provide better position accuracy. between the two transducers.

Measured Rotation Rate

This rate displays for steering wheel encoder disengage types and displays the rate of steering in degrees per second.

When connected with a DirecSteer unit, this display provides a calculated, non-dimenisional rotation rate through the DirecSteer unit.

Measured PWM Encoder Change Rate

This rate displays for steering wheel encoder disengage types. This field displays the change in steering position in percent per second.

Encoder Rate

Displays the speed at which the steering wheel is turning.

Disengage Threshold

Set the minimum value which the sensor must detect to disengage auto-steering as the steering wheel is turned manually. Adjust the value so that the disengage status changes to red when the steering when the steering disengage switch is engaged. When the steering input stops, this status should return to green, which indicates that auto-steer may be engaged. Adjust the threshold to minimize the delay between detecting steering input and the status toggling between red and green.
